HDLS Conference The High Desert Linguistics Conference features papers, especially those from a cognitive and functional linguistics perspective on the Evolution of Language, Grammaticization, Metaphor & Metonymy, Native American Languages, Typology, Spanish and Languages of the American Southwest, Language Revitalization and Maintenance, Language Change & Variation, Sociolinguistics, Bilingualism, Discourse Analysis, Signed Languages, Language Acquisition and Computational Linguistics. The papers cover all aspects of language including structure, acquisition, variation, and change as well as all levels of language including phonology, morphology, syntax, lexicon, discourse, and neural processing.
